I recently became a patient of Dr. Kevin Volkema at the brand new building of Valley Health Primary Care Greenwood in Virginia. I was impressed beyond words. Dr. Volkema was everything I always wanted (but rarely had) in a doctor. He is not only well educated and intelligent, but also a listener who took time to get to know me. He never scoffed and was never condescending or dismissive of my concerns. After a thorough analysis, he crafted treatments that I was comfortable with, and as such earned my trust on the first visit. Also important for me - he didn't push any drugs knowing I was hesitant toward them. I’m giving a three‑star review based on my recent new‑patient appointment with Stephanie Hoefle, MD. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. We waited over an hour past our scheduled time, and my boys understandably became restless. Instead of showing patience or understanding, Dr. Hoefle gave us looks that made me feel judged. I also did not appreciate the way she spoke to me. Her tone and attitude were unprofessional, especially when discussing my medications. When we talked about my Vyvanse for ADHD, she seemed judgmental about me taking it seven days a week instead of five. She then told me I would need to be seen every three months for refills. Beautiful new medical facility with primary care and a laboratory. I stopped by without an appointment to get blood work done. I was in and out in five minutes and the phlebotomist was friendly and good at her job. I will definitely be returning.

First visit at this new facility and it was great! Lab personnel were friendly, efficient and professional. Will get all future lab work completed at this very convenient location.
