Customer Reviews
Everyone was so incredibly nice and helpful. Both the nurse and doctor I met with were genuinely so kind and made me feel comforted and safe. I would give this place five stars if it wasn't for the fact that it is impossible to get an appointment less than a week and a half in advanced as well as the front desk staff member was not very nice.
They get a lot of hate because they are an undersized staff overwhelmed by a huge student population and it leads to appointments getting backed up. They're doing their best, and the other day when I needed a prescription for antibiotics for my cold they got me an appointment with a doctor the day I called. The doctor was extremely nice and helpful, prescribed me the antibiotics I needed plus an inhaler that has been helping my cough, as well as helping me get an appointment with a specialist for a separate issue, which was above and beyond what I was expecting. They deserve some love
If I were able to give a 0 star review, I absolutely would. Today is Wednesday and I have been trying to get in contact with SHS since Friday, and when I finally do, they only have TWO appointment times when they promised that "they will have a bunch if I call in the morning." UVM truly does not care about their students at all when it comes to their health services and they have made it very well know to me more than once.
STOP HATING ON SHS!!! I am a uvm student who is at shs every week for treatment of my chronic health issues and my experiences have always been positive. The staff is so hardworking and compassionate towards students. They are overworked with few resources and a small staff trying to treat an entire student population. It can be difficult making appointments with them, but that’s because so many student are in need of medical attention and they have limited availability. They always give their best effort!
I have a terrible case of the stomach bug and they refuse to give me a note because as an emerging adult I need to be able to advocate for my own health. I can't control this sickness. Some professors are very strict and won't allow an excused absence unless there is a note from the student health center. Just another reason I am transferring.
