UVA Health Piedmont Family Medicine

I loved this office before it was purchased by UVA. Now that UVA owns it patients are numbers and the more number they have the more money they make but as a result you have to wait 3 weeks or more to get appointments with providers. I have a mom who is 85 and everytime I call to make an appointment I am told they have no providers available and to take her to urgent car or the hospital. Telling and 85 year old you are taking them to urgent care or the hospital sounds like the end of the road for them. They dont go. I need a Dr office that see's patients as people not $$$$$$. If you are looking for a new Dr Run dont walk away from this office they have no room for new patients. They cant service the patients they have properly

Besides the incompetence of the front staff who refuse to actually fill out forms or transfer messages and the phone system that was broken for months when the transition to UVA was made, doctors are uncaring and nurse practitioner, Gabby Potter, is poor diagnostician and very uncaring. Couldn’t get appointment or even a call from Dr Diwan for over 2 months because he was at his other practice in Kansas City so Nurse Practitioner was taking his patients. She told me my husband’s increasing dementia was “age appropriate”. Does that mean she expects everyone over 70 to naturally have Alzheimer’s? I have been coming here since it opened up. Dr. Diwan has been my Doctor since he came into the practice some 10 plus years . He he very knowledgeable and always going somewhere to learn more. He listens to you as a Doctor should. Asking about what you are there for. Doesn't rush you out. Gives you the time to go over everything on your mind. Up date on Dr Diwan and his staff. I do feel blessed to have a doctor of his abilities and knowledge as my physician. I just wish my wife had the same care and service that I get at Piedmont Family Practice. . She been trying for three years now to find out what is wrong. Been seeing nurses practitioners and each year she ends up with a new one as others move on. It's taken months just to get Family leave paperwork thats still wrong. And still NO

Since UVA took over it has been absolutely disappointing. Profit over patient care now. There are way better options in Warrenton. I would not recommend.

I have been using Piedmont Family Practice for about 15 years now and I always kept thinking they would be getting better. But they haven't. From what I know they are the only practice in town and they have never had good customer service, operations, and management of how the business side of things are run. I have had 2 excellent and 1 poor providers there but can't say I have had good service. I highlight the biggest issues: the phone service, front desk service, scheduling, follow up, and call backs. So I finally have to mention it in a review. I called at 10:30am yesterday, was on the automated system for 15 minutes and 34 seconds before it clicked over to ask I leave a message for a call back.
