Utpal Patel, MD, PhD

It's very rare to find an MD with doctor Patel's pedigree. A week ago I saw him for my annual skin check up. He did 4 biopsies, and one looked like a freckle the size of a dime. It was cancer. He made an appointment for only 2 days out. He cut out a massive amount of tissue needing over 25 sutures. In the end, Dr. Patel saved my life. His dedication & thoroughness makes him amongst the finest MD's in the country, not just the Brooksville area. He is a rare breed. You will find no greater professional than Dr. Utpal Patel.

Dr. Utpal Patel has done Mohs surgery on my face, neck, and leg. He is a plastic surgeon as well as Mohs surgeon. All scars have healed beautifully. His bedside manner is very warm and pleasant.and he has a great sense of humor,. I would recommend him to friends and family without a doubt!

Update: My opinion of Dr. Utpal Patel has evolved. He is a very intelligent doctor and has helped improve my condition. As my lipomas continued to grow and spread, I decided to return to Dr. Patel (if for no other reason than to show him they are, indeed, there). He diagnosed me with a rare connective tissue disease, Dercum's Disease. I continue to be a patient today. He has found a medication that seems to be aiding in disease management. I do still find his visits to be very brief. However, I believe he is very intelligent and cares enough to do research on rare conditions. 4 stars Original Post: Dr. Patel came across as arrogant, intolerant and condescending. Dr. U Patel is outstanding! I've had to go to dermatologists for over 67 years and Dr Patel is one of the best in my experience. Very knowledgeable, great "bedside manner," explains in layman's terms and staff at both offices we've been to are very good, A++ 👍😎

I’ve been to many derms and Dr. Patel is the best and most knowledgeable. He stays current on every new product and treatment. I’ve been a licensed and practicing esthetician for the past 17 years and feel like I expect a lot from a derm and Dr Patel beyond delivers. He’s compassionate and has the best demeanor of any Dr I’ve ever met. Truthfully I wish he did more than just dermatology. You won’t be disappointed. Also, his office and staff are top notch. They even squeezed me in one day when I had something pop up that looked off. A+++
