This was by far the worst experience I’ve have ever had at a UTMB ER. Multiple hours of waiting with my mother who is over 70 years old that is in excruciating pain due to a medical shot she received in her leg. Unclean restrooms and i mean it was filthy. A clearly disabled woman who was in pain was trying to get to the water fountain was passed up by 6 employees that never even asked if she needed help, my wife and I assisted her and apologized on the hospitals behalf. Shameful just shameful. And my mother never received treatment.
Obviously these reviews mean nothing. I see UTMB responding with the same ridiculous message to these reviews and nothing is changing. I wouldn’t come here at all if possible but both my parents live close to this place and when there is an emergency this is where I have to take them. Every single time I’m in here I see the exact same thing. Horrible horrible care. It’s happen to me and I’ve seen it happen several times and I’m actually watching it right now. People walking in with agonizing pain or full of anxiety due to chest pain or whatever else symptoms they have and this staff is just behind the check in glass laughing and on their phones not giving a damn about these patents. This lady literally just rolled her cancer patient mom in here complaining about major chest pain and
If I could give this place a zero I would this is the place you come to die at. I came in with loss of bladder and bowl I had a fall that morning was in severe back pain from the fall. I also have trisomy x disorder that I was born with, so I have my mom accommodate for me. Anyways the intake nurse didn’t want to read what my mom handed to him he said and I quote “ she’s 29 “ I may be 29 but mentally I’m no different than a child. Then I asked for someone higher than him and they gave me a church pastor nurse. I got handed off left and right I am diagnosed with spinal stenosis in my canal with no control over my bladder.. they instead of providing me care wanted to do a rectal exam on me what does that have to do with my pain and loss of bladder. All in all don’t come here oh and
I developed a severe tooth abscess that quickly got out of control. My dentist explained the infection was too deep to treat in-office and needed to be handled in the ER. When I went to the ER, I was sent home and told it was cellulitis in my face. Unfortunately, I was given the wrong medication and no real treatment. By then, my face had swollen to the size of a balloon, and my lips looked like I had a bad filler injection. It was a frightening and frustrating experience. I was also not there was no doctor or oral surgeon in the US that’s at a hospital. Yet my doctor directed me directly to 3 places I could go and for my infection drained in OR and proper treatment to go back to my dentist. Shame on them.
I went to this e.r with extreme calf pain after knee surgery. They performed an ultrasound and sent me home. The ultrasound tech admitted to me that they were not the correct ultrasound tech to be checking for a dvt, which was confirmed by the fact that they sent me home with a dvt and a pulmonary embolism. I was seen the next day by my surgeon, and I insisted on another ultrasound that confirmed I had a dvt. My surgeon had me go back to this er to be admitted to the hospital as that was the protocol he followed. I went back the 28th and was told they would not admit, they would give me blood thinners and send me home. I told them I was short of breath when they asked, so then they had to do a c.t. scan, which confirmed I had a pulmonary embolism, but because it was small and not in a
