UT Health East Texas Urgent Care (Three Lakes)

I had been vomiting for going on 3 days. I needed some fluids. This did not warrant a trip to the ER. I was told they don’t typically give fluids even though they have the supplies and was referred to a hydration clinic. But I wasn’t leaving without my fluids first. I was little confused on what the urgent care can do. I did get my fluids. The staff was nice but I was there several hours waiting on my drip bag to finish. I had no issue waiting, I was getting fluids and a good nap. I kind of get the feeling they didn’t want a patient there that long. I don’t blame the staff for not being fully prepared, I think UT needs to supply the urgent care with more items. I just wasn’t going to the ER, copays have gone up drastically and didn’t feel a bag of fluids should cost me $500. But other than

Took my son to this urgent care on a Sunday and it was so easy to book online. They got him in right away. The entire staff was so kind and patient with my son, who’s on the spectrum. He got such great care and everyone was kind, fast, and super attentive. You could tell the staff truly cared about him and went out of their way to make him feel safe and comfortable. Honestly couldn’t have asked for a better urgent care experience! We will be using them every time now!

I took my 4-year-old to this urgent care. The nurse was nice, but the PA didn’t seem very knowledgeable and his treatment felt questionable. He didn’t even send the RX, which caused issues later. Getting after-hours help was impossible none of the other UT Health locations after hour knew the phone number to this urgent care not even the main hospital. Too lazy to google the # which is what I did and when I finally reached an after-hours nurse, I was informed there are no on-call doctors to fix prescription errors. I was just hoping the PA was still there to send it. What topped off my frustration was being stuck in the Walgreens drive-thru pharmacy line for over an hour, unable to get out and having to wake up overnight with my sick child. I could have used OTC medicine and home remedie

I was treated for a splinter that had become lodged under my skin. I was told they accepted my insurance but they couldn’t get it to work so I ended up paying out of pocket. Fine. After making 3 incisions on my foot, he told me he couldn’t get it out because he didn’t have the right tool but he’ll order one later (a lot of good that’d do me). He said he’d refer me to a podiatrist & prescribe me some antibiotics and promptly, and coldly, left the room, where my foot was still bleeding. The nurse came in to clean me up and did a horrible job doing so. My foot was still covered blood, my toes were dripping in blood, and she made no effort to conceal the large pile of bloody cottonballs. She just said “you’re fine to go.” I ended up having to clean myself up with a freaking piece of Kleenex.

I recently went to UT Health East Texas Three Lakes Urgent Care. The office was very clean and the medical staff are kind, informative and extremely professional.I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you so much Three Lakes.
