UPMC Hanover

Had a very good experience at this hospital for an EDG. All the nurses and doctors were wonderful. Very professional, communicative, compassionate, and thorough. They helped me feel comfortable and safe since I was a little nervous about having anesthesia. I was in good hands. The facility was very clean and modern. I was impressed and would highly recommend it for these kind of diagnostic procedures. Thank you!

I was visiting a relative in New Oxford PA. when I woke up on Saturday morning January 3rd 2026 with swelling in both ankles. There was a think pinkish ring on my skin also around both ankles. I drank fluids mostly water and tried to elevate my legs but the think circle progressed to a red with heat present coming from both legs. The right leg more tban the left. I arrived at UPMC Hanover hospital a little before 4 pm. I checked in at the window giving Christina my symptoms (extreme swelling in both legs bright red rash warm (left leg) and hot (right leg) to the touch inside the ED and was handed a red chart and told to have a seat in the waiting room which was surprisingly not that crowded. Six of us altogether. I wasnt called to triage until around 5:20 pm at which time two (older) nurs

Shout out to some of Lovely Ladies of the Hanover Hospital Auxiliary which I had the pleasure of meeting a few upon entering the main entrance on Wednesday..They were pumped up Happy Patient Appreciate week was happening. You were sincerely thanked and received a thoughfull little gift. Also I always recieve a great smile and help from the information center. The staff in admissions are always polite and professional..

I went to the ER fully expecting to sit for hours, be told to take Tylenol, and sent home. Instead, they took my symptoms very seriously and figured out right away something was wrong. I wound up staying a full 5 days where I was treated with kindness, respect, and the best care I could have hoped for. The teams in ED, ICU, and Hospital wing did everything they could to ensure my comfort while providing treatment and helping to unravel the mystery of what was going on. From the nurses, the doctors, the volunteers and social workers, everyone was on top of all my needs and comfort. They set up all my follow up appointments and ensured I was safe getting home. I cannot say enough good things about my treatment here. Thank you UPMC.

Wife arrived at 10AM for severe back pain. The waiting room was empty. Received testing(urinalysis and xray) quickly and results posted within an hour. She then waited until 7:30PM until sitting in a chair became unbearable. She finally left we no results. She came home with irregularities in urinalysis, and increased back pain. You cant preach about caring for patients when this is allowed. Over a dozen other patients all walked out without results. This is embarrassing and a standard pre-written reply will not correct a dreadful situation.
