RIP. Heather. On May 10th of 2017 my mother, Elizabeth Heather Papillon, had an asthma attack resulting in her needing to leave work and head to Harrisburg Community General Hospital. She was 38 at the time and 2 years clean off of heroin. she started struggling to breathe around 2ish pm, by the time she made it to the hospital her airways were closed, the staff decided to start breathing treatments through an oxygen mask to which my mother started pushing the mask off of her face attempting to signal that the oxygen mask was not working. Her record clearly stated that she was clean and had attended rehab two years prior, instead of deciding to preform an emergency intubation on her they instead decided that she was overdosing, although she was conscious and clearly panicking and strugglin

I went to the ER on 12/19 for severe lower right back pain and severe nausea. I had surgery on 12/16, so I was on oxy for pain medication and Zofran for nausea medication from that surgery. Neither of the medications was touching the pain and nausea I was having. So I tell the triage nurse that my pain was a 9/10 and I was having severe nausea. I even told her that my medications from surgery wasn’t helping. She came across very dismissive and put in my chart that I was having a stomach ache/general abdominal pain.. After waiting in the ER waiting room for several hours, about to black out from pain, I finally get a CAT scan. After the scan I started vomiting. I had to go to ER last night and had the best experience!!! Top notch nurses and Dr’s. Not only were they quick and efficient, the care and attentiveness of all the caregivers I met were outstanding! My husband also recently had surgery there and again, a truly outstanding staff and experience! We were blown away with care, the cleanliness, professionalism and expertise. Outstanding!

I was suffering from many different ailments unsure of what was happening to me. I was too weak to hold my head up or walk when I arrived. I had to wait for hours but that's to be expected. They maintained checks on my vitals while I waited. Even offered ginger ale and crackers when I was nauseous. I got tylenol for pain. The staff were phenomenal. I'm actually sending them a gift basket. Highly recommend. I had an emergency doctor figure out a lifelong problem nobody else picked up my whole 50 years!!!

I took a family member to the Emergency Room on Sunday. We thought it was a serious health issue and were very worried. The ER nurses and Doctors there are top notch!! I cannot say enough good things about this Hospital and all of the staff who work there. We were treated with kindness, dignity and respect. We’re grateful to have such a wonderful health care facility within our reach.
