University-Md Neurosurgery

For the past four weeks I’ve been trying to schedule an appointment to see the surgeon. I been diagnosed with diabetic neuropathy, and nerve damage and it’s affecting my back and spine. New patient intake wanted a second referral from my pcp and images I had all of that sent over from them plus my neurologist, and still no one has called me back after numerous calls and voicemails were left. I think whoever is behind the administrative office should be fired immediately if not the entire staff very unprofessional and disgusting to patient care and needs.

I've always had positive experiences with the University of Maryland Medical System, but this is an exception. I was recently diagnosed with a severe stenosis which is causing chronic daily headaches for me. I desperately wanted to get an appointment with UM Neurosurgery, but their administrative/intake process is so disorganized and confusing and disjointed that I've simply given up. There is no one actively answering the phones if you try and call, everything goes to voice mail. Sometimes calls are returned, sometimes they aren't. My PCP called multiple times to inquire about the delay, and his voice mails were never returned. To be clear, I'm sure their neurosurgeons are phenomenal, but I'll never know because I couldn't figure out how to get an appointment.
