University Health Care System - Westwood Nursing Facility

DO NOT keep your loved one in Westwood nursing home.It is with deep anguish that I write this. The Westwood nursing home failed to provide the most basic and fundamental human needs to my mother, which is food and water to survive during the Covid -19 pandemic. Besides Absence of fresh air and sunshine from March 15 th - May 25 th 2020. My mother had lost 30 lbs ( from middle of March 2020 when I last saw her ( and up to May 25 th) during which time they ended family visits and family feeding due to the COVID -19 outbreak. My mother was severely dehydrated and starved to death. I can logically conclude she must not have been fed nor given any fluids during this time for such drastic weight loss and dehydration to occur within that period. I left work at 8 pm on Mother’s Day 2

If I could give no stars I would. DO NOT let your loved ones be taken to this place. My loved one was found unresponsive @ night & this place called & had them transported to the hospital the next day. They NEVER contacted family to let us know. My family member went in negative for Covid (tested before they left hospital) & was positive when they had to readmitted to the hospital. We only found out they were transported to the hospital, because we couldn't reach them. Then they had lost their belongings & it took several trips to retrieve them. Now our loved one has passed away due to complications from Covid-19 & we couldn't be there to say goodbye. I would not let a rabid animal be admitted to this facility! Faculty answering phones were rude. I can only imagine what's going on behind c

This place is horrible and ridiculous. I wish I didn’t have to give a single star JUST to review it. The staff is constantly cut back and some of it’s members are little more than criminals when dealing with patients. The number of times we’ve tried to call them and not received an answer is stifling and the “social worker help” has been far less than 1 ⭐️. I try to make exceptions for all people in all lines of work, but this is a healthcare facility. Exceptions could cost lives. They won’t change the patient’s diaper, they won’t give the patient a bath, they won’t even unpack the patient’s belongings when they move them from one room to another due to COVID. The patient has had a terrible experience with staff and the lack of an on sight doctor is even more disturbing. The horror stories

My mother has been there 5 years.They don't care about them.When you ask nurses how having they been doing.I am always told Idk cuz I threw the agency.They can not keep nurses.The food is the worst.The people that work up front are the sweetest.They do try and help you.They have a problem with flooding here.We have seen it happen 3 times.My mother room flooded.So they moved her to another.Never moved her stuff with her.No one knows anything.

I agree with the other negative comments & more. They still have my Mom’s wheelchair, just couldn’t keep going there after almost 3 years.
