UnityPoint Clinic Urgent Care - Westside

This was the BEST urgent care experience I've ever had!!! I showed up just a couple of minutes after they opened at 08:00 am and there were already 4 people ahead of me but I still got in and back out in under 25 minutes. The check in was quick and easy and the nurse who did my intake was friendly and empathetic. I then waited less than 3 minutes before seeing Dr. Todd and he was great. Patient and thorough explaining my diagnosis and answering my questions. I will never go to any other urgent care in Cedar Rapids!!!!

Dr. Neemyer I believe. Women doctor here at urgent care. Best doctor I’ve ever seen. She cares deeply and listens and will give me meds when I ask because I have a weak immune system and she just is always there to help and get me something to feel better. Sorry if I spelled her name wrong but she’s got colorful hair it’s red and brown and some blonde. Wonderful women. She deserves an award.

I was seen for a medical condition needing more urgent care than they could provide, which was fine. Dr. Ismael was great. He left the exam room saying someone would be back soon to wrap up and send me to ER with a referral. An hour later, a nurse came in and asked me if he'd seen me yet. Are you kidding me??? I said he had, and she asked me what I was waiting for. Strike 2. Aren't they supposed to know?? Then when I told her, she immediately said, "oh, you're good to go then." I'm sure glad it wasn't life threatening or anything! Good thing it was only pain I was dealing with!

The folks here are amazing. Super caring. It is a really busy clinic so sometimes you have to wait. Jason, and his team somehow made my appointment a little more fun today. Thanks!

If I could give this negative stars I would. I cannot stress this enough, if you have Tricare as your insurance DO NOT GO HERE!!! They present themselves as an urgent care but they are not. They do not have the credentials to be an urgent care so they bill as an office visit, which is deceiving and unethical. It has caused all sorts of issues with my insurance because I do not need a referral for urgent care, I DO however need a referral for an office visit and that's exactly how they bill. If I could give this negative 10 stars I would, the numbers of hours I spent on the phone just to figure this out is startling. Save yourself time and go to an ACTUAL urgent care, which is in the same parking lot as this one. I cannot stress this enough, AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COST AND SAVE YOURSELF
