Unfortunately, I had low electrolytes from being 100lbs and vomiting for 20 hours. I went for help from UMMC and was made to feel like I had nothing wrong. I had muscle cramps in my hands to start with... With low potassium, sodium and chloride (anyone in the medical profession SHOULD know these symptoms). I was told I was fine. My feet started cramping, like charlie horses in my hands and now in my feet and going up my legs... I was told to "relax". This is textbook low electrolytes. I thought any hospital could take care of this, simply hydrate and potassium... It's not the 1st time it's happened to me so I'm aware of the symptoms, as I have health issues. My husband was rushed to this hospital with severe abdominal pains.The care he received in the E.R. was okay. No one was able to give me a straight answer as to what was wrong. In the in end, He needed surgery. His surgeon, her PA, and the ICU were all wonderful he was treated with dignity and respect. They all explained everything to us. This part was positive, however, when he got moved to the 3rd floor, I felt his care was subpar. He hadn't received any of his regular medications for 8 days and started to experience medical setbacks because of this. Twice, I found him sitting in soiled bed sheets. I stripped the bed myself. Although, it was recommended by the physical therapist that my husband was to get up and walk and have the nurses help him, no one ever did. I would never recommen

My husband was admitted for observation. I was worried about his safety because many floors and surfaces were very dirty, especially bathrooms. Also the drs put him on a no food and no drink order due to tests that were needed. When the tests all came back normal they did not change the order. He had no fluids by IV or by mouth for 19 hours because they were so slow to change the order. He finally was given some fluids by mouth just before they discharged him. Later at home we got a follow up call to let us know that all the tests and blood work were normal except that he was very dehydrated. They advised him to be more careful of his hydration. He explained to them that the doctor’s negligence with his hydration was the cause and he felt worse at the end of the stay than when he first go

If I could leave zero stars I would. Whatever you do. Do NOT give birth here. Very complicated experience because the team was less than unprepared for a birth that wasn’t smooth. The midwife Megan yanked my baby out so roughly that my baby was diagnosed with Torticollis which required months of manipulation, and I had a pelvic floor injury for 2 YEARS! she stitched me incorrectly and had to do it a second time saying she “missed a spot”. When I brought up this issue I was dismissed. Totally ruined my experience of birth and traumatized me from wanting to give birth ever again. :)
