Do not send your loved one to United Hebrew of New Rochelle. The nursing staff were dismissive and blamed the patient for their medical needs. Medical procedures were Not followed. Instead of having their medical needs met, our loved one was repeatedly dismissed by nursing staff. Out of desperation the patient called 911 for help. Of course, once taken to the ER, the patient got the help they needed. To make matters worse, United Hebrew never contacted the family to inform them of what was happening. The family had no idea the patient went to the ER by ambulance, alone and immobile. Unfortunately, United Hebrew came highly recommended by a prior acute rehab. Our family member was removed from United Hebrew within 24 hours and placed in a different rehab which met their needs immediately an
First, the housekeeping & kitchen staff actually work harder than some medical staff. Some nurse's aides are exceptional, while others are just lazy. One male nurse, on the third floor, does his job extremely well and genuinely cares. However, you will find other nurses and aides, standing around gossiping & doing nothing. Some of the rooms stink of pee and poop, when you walk through the hallways. Please do not send your loved one here. Basically, they run up your insurance. Seriously, I don't know the CEO or Managing Supervisor for staff. But you need to wake up and smell the coffee
I waited several months to post this review to see if my anger subsided, but my dad and I were recently talking about his stay here and it upset me all over again. I feel for the nurses and some of the aides and the social worker who really are kind and doing their best, but this place is overall ABYSMAL. My father is 90 years old and came here for rehab. I’ve never seen him so depressed in my life, although he thankfully rebounded after his release. The place is so understaffed that it can take an hour or more just for them to respond to the button. During that time, he was often immobilized, unable even to sit up or turn off the light, but some of the aides yelled at him when he would complain. He once called me on the verge of tears because he needed water and no one would respond. I ca
I went to visit my mom, Catherine Regan, age 91, at her new home on the second floor of United Hebrew. I could not be happier to see what is going on at this wonderful facility! There is no smell of urine when you enter the building, enter the floor, nor any of the rooms! The facility is spotless the floors are Shining, the employees caring for my mother could not be friendlier, happier, nor more caring! My mother's clothes were clean and neat, she look like she could have attended church very easily! Her fingernails were clean, her hair was clean and nicely brushed, she had no skin abnormalities that I could discern, certainly no skin tears, and as my mother said to me," I feel fine!". I'm an old RN that has a lot of nursing home experience. I put myself through nursing school in the 70s
Both of my parents were at United Hebrew from 2019 - 2021. My father was ill from a stroke and paralyzed one side and unable to speak - my mother was well but had some dementia and wanted to stay by my father's side - she died until he died at UH end of 2020. I am writing a review today as my mother has passed at home now - and in thinking back I called to thank the Staff at UH for their excellent care for both of my parents on all fronts and at the time I was with UH - I had a very positive experience on all fronts. They did their best to keep parents connected with children before, during and after Covid. I called every day to connect with my mother when I did not visit. I have been a pretty devoted child going three times a week or more. I reached out to thank them again, upon my mo
