UNC Pediatrics at Garner

Nurse Alicia and Dr. Ottley are the best! They have both been a part of my children's lives since birth. Dr. Ottley always listens and makes sure we do not leave wondering. He is kind and gentle with my very fiesty children. Nurse Alicia is very personable and always makes my son smile (which is very hard to do). He enjoys going to the doctor, whether for himself or with his sibling, because he loves the interaction with her.

Absolutely love this clinic! Dr. Sawyer-Knox is an absolute gem! The way she listens to my concerns and interacts with my children making sure their voice is heard about their health is a dream come true! The nurses and staff are fantastic, always helpful and always with the best attitudes. The facility is always clean as well.

I absolutely love our doctor and the nurses who care for my children — they’ve always been wonderful. But lately, the front desk staff have been really difficult to deal with. I got a call that wasn’t clear — they didn’t say they were changing my appointment, only that it was to move me back to my regular doctor. Instead, they pushed my appointment an hour later without asking if that time worked. I explained that I couldn’t do that because my oldest had a dental appointment, but the staff member had an attitude and told me I’d have to wait another month if I couldn’t make the new time. I finally said to just put my child with another doctor for this appointment. Now they’re saying they don’t give shots after 11 a.m., even though my kids have gotten shots after that time before. Because

The doctors and nurses are the best, but the secretaries don't know how to treat people who speak Spanish,They get upset and start to sigh deeply. If they don't know how to be patient and treat Hispanic people well, they shouldn't be sitting there.

We love it here! I delivered at UNC Rex. My baby has been going to the Garner location since she was a month old; she’s now 16 months. We see Dr. Pollock. She is very patient and responds to all my concerns. The front desk staff are always friendly, which is a plus. Sometimes there is a long wait but overall, we get in pretty quick. I also love MyChart especially to be able to ask the RN/PCP any questions.
