UF Health Pediatrics - Ocala

This has been our family practice for nearly 40 years but after UF have took over, things have spiraled downhill. As the original doctors have retired, the new doctors are much less warm and inviting. The office staff remains and are probably the only remaining good thing but as it has pushed a corporate mentality, the availability has declined where you are forced to an walk-in ER when your children are sick or wait several days to be seen. This is the entire reason to build a family relationship, to protect your children and get them realistic care when needed. I would not be surprised if this is a cost effective method to push ill visits to an ER visit and charge much more to see them.

I honestly can not believe how far this office has fallen since they were taken over by UF. We have been patients for over 10 years now. It used to be a great office with a wonderful staff, but since the take over nearly every interaction we have had with this office has been negative. After being patients for 10 years, they absolutely refused to see my child after he had a head injury. Despite my begging for him to be seen by his doctor, an office who knows him, they would only send him to the ED. On top of this, the nurse I spoke to on the phone was extremely rude, told me she didn't understand why I was refusing to have my child evaluated. Seriously? I am literally begging to have him seen by his doctor. I was also told by another person there that part of the reason he could not be see

Call inquiring information i was immediately told we are NOT excepting ANY new patients or business right now. Phone call was less than 2 minutes long.

My almost 4 year old has had the same doctor since she was born, Dr Cheryl Rogers, and even if we go a while without seeing her Dr Rogers always remembers the tiniest details about us. She is so compassionate and puts work into taking care of every concern you have. The desk staff are also SO wonderful, I have called them multiple times about issues involving paperwork and they will go out of their way to make sure you’re taken care of. I can’t speak for any of the other doctors here but Dr Cheryl Rogers as well as Wendy & Elease at the front desk are wonderful.

UF Pediatrics refused to see my son so conveniently right after I made a complaint about Mr. Al being an absolute creep. He will pull your child’s pants down without warning at any visit, even if it’s an ear infection. I saw him do this a few times with my oldest, so I switched providers for him, but when my youngest had to be with him for a sick appointment, and he did the same thing, I filed a complaint. I tried to fight it on the hospital level because they are part of Shands, but they said the office manager had the final say and he won’t let me back because of my complaint again Mr. Al. I beg you not to send your child here and to also speak up if Mr. Al does this to your kids. He’s being protected by UF.
