UCONN Waterbury Hospital

Horrified by our experience. In the emergency department with my husband, there was what looked like blood on the hospital bed’s remote and a piece of flesh(??) stuck to the curtain. We showed it to a nurse, tried to be nice about it and not sound like complainers, and she just gaslit us, saying “we sanitized the room before you, so any blood must’ve come from you,” when he wasn’t even bleeding. It was obviously old blood and not from him. I was shocked by this. We also had to call for someone to help him to the bathroom for 30-40 minutes. When we finally just got up and hobbled over to the nursing station, I expected to see no one since they must’ve been understaffed to not bother with us, but no, a bunch of nurses just talking. They deserve no stars! I was with Chase clinic for 20 yrs ! I don't know where these Drs are coming from in that hospital Dr mariani had one off the worse bedside manner I have ever come across in my yrs! I could never get her to call me back I never saw her once maybe it's like she couldn't be bothered I went to the ED by ambulance! Because of the pain I was in.it was excruciating!! She was two flights up and didn't even have the common courtesy to come see me! They gave me an ace bandage and sent me on my way the Dr in the ED. Didn't even help me with it! I need two knee replacements thank God I found UConn health it's a completely different world I love there drs and their staff! They CARE!. She had the audacity to discharge me after twenty yrs! Hospital was great . Bill well thats another story. Ive been dealing with billing for 8 months trying to straighten out where they put the payments ive sent. Over 600.00 in payments via direct payment and they can figure out where the payments went . Spoke to everyone. No one has returned my calls after leaving many messages. Spoke a supervisor and thar still didn't get anything done. I sent a small payment in of 44.08. And was no applied to my bill. Then they had the nerve to call and ask for the 44.08 and I told the the date sent and the date it was withdrawn from my account. They still have not called me back. That was 2 months ago. I am not send anything till all my payments are found . Thank you. Rene Brouillard.

This time around I had a great experience. I don't know if it was because my doctor called ahead with the problems I was having. But every nurse on the floor that I was on was very nice. I even told her that. Which she said was it's It's easy to be nice when you have a nice patient. Other experiences have not been so good.

I wasn't feeling well. My husband took me to the emergency room at Waterbury Hospital, and in there i was treated very well. I learned later I had to have surgery. I stayed a total of 6 days and the hospitality they gave me was phenomenal! The staff: Dr's, nurses, etc were all so kind and very attentive. To be honest I never expected this kind of treatment, I was thinking I'm just another patient they are gonna overlook; but not at all. I just want to say thank you again Waterbury Hospital staff for making my stay so pleasant. I really appreciated that❤️
