⭐ 1-Star Review This was honestly the worst hospital experience I’ve ever had, and that’s saying a lot given how many hospitals I’ve been to over the years. I’m only disappointed that today’s visit was such a drastic change from my prior experiences here, which were usually fast and efficient. I was stuck seven to eight times for blood work by multiple staff members, many of whom seemed inexperienced. They were only able to successfully draw blood once, and I was later told that the sample had coagulated, meaning it was unusable. Because of this, only part of my blood work was completed, and I wasn’t informed until the very end that the blood obtained would not be sufficient, despite filling multiple tubes. The care my father received until his passing at this hospital was incredible. The minute he arrived from Trinity Health in Howell Michigan, the team at Ann Arbor was spot on providing excellent care. The whole ICU team was fantastic. They were caring and empathetic. They treated my dad with respect, regardless of his age and current situation. I’ve never seen a hospital team so on it for bed side turns. Thank you so much for taking such extraordinary care of my dad in his final days here on Earth. Working in the health care system myself, some hospital systems shouldn’t even be operational but you guys did a wonderful job. Thank you so much.

Stephanie and Elle were absolutely wonderful! They took such great care of me and made what could have been a stressful hospital stay feel much lighter. Their sense of humor had me laughing, and their kindness and compassion truly stood out. You can tell they genuinely care about their patients and love what they do. One of our family members recently had cardiac surgery here, and we were very pleased with every aspect of the experience. Each staff member we encountered in the departments we visited was kind, knowledgeable and invested; pre-op, anesthesia, surgery, 2 North and 2 East. This was a major surgery and the nursing staff, PAs and respiratory therapists were top notch, with a protocol that aimed to anticipate and counteract possible issues. We came from a distance due to Dr. Pruitt's reputation and we felt continuously confident in the care received. Also, having the McAuley Inn available to stay on-site, was incredible, comfortable and convenient.

My daughter was provided stellar care during her stay in L&D, and mother/baby. Molly, RN in L&D triage was attentive, funny, knowledgeable and just a joy to meet. Lorna, RN was wonderful and provided my daughter with the best care when things got hectic. The midwife, Kenyatta, was knowledgeable, caring, compassionate and a true asset to the care team. Elaina Dean, Midwife was attentive, knowledgeable, calming, reassuring and supportive…just an absolute treasure. Deann, RN in recovery and postpartum was helpful, knowledgeable, supportive, and super pleasant. Dr. Hesson is awesome! I can’t say enough about this team and I really hope I didn’t forget anyone because they all deserve so much praise!! I’m gushing because these guys truly deserve it!
