The Modern Chemist - GOWANUS

I am taking the time to write this review even though I am NOT a customer of the store - yet I wanted to find a nearby pharmacy and being right near the train, Modern Chemist was perfect. I even have a semi unusual prescription, Modern Chemist ordered t the day they received it and had it ready and waiting for me , Unfortunately, they were not in Network with my insurance (i have little to no co-pay) and I will have to go back to CVS. I wad even willing to pay the Good RX discount and do a cash purchase to support them, but it still would have been almost double what I have paid in the past But for the 10 minutes I spent in their adorable store, the owner and his assistant could not have been any nicer to me - the owner gave me a full explanation on why they were not in Network, gave

Had an emergency leg infection and went down the street to Medrite urgent care. They enthusiastically referred me to Modern Chemist to fill my prescription. Par and his wife were kind and wonderful. Went above and beyond as they even called the urgent care location so we could get the prescription a bit faster. Par filled it immediately, and I was able to take a dose right after I left. I appreciate this place and the people who work there very much. Thank you.

Just left and don’t see the reason for the high reviews. The girl working there gave me an attitude when I used the wrong card to pay. If you don’t want to do your job, go home.

Called at 3:30 and was told me and my young child could get flu shots starting at 4. So I killed time in the area with my kid and got there at 4. Woman at the counter nonchalantly said oh the pharmacist isn’t back yet and that she didn’t know when they would be. We waited 15 minutes and left to find another pharmacy. If I was by myself it would be less annoying but with my kid who was anxious about getting the shot it was pretty frustrating.

I stopped by the modern chemist on Saturday, nov 2nd to stock up on some items, including this Avene Exfoliating Gel. The associate did not offer to provide a receipt when we completed our purchase. Once we got home, I was unpacking my bag and noticed that the product was in fact a tester, and old. Since I have no receipt, I will be unable to return this item and am stuck with a product I will be unable to use given its state. I’m disappointed because this product is not cheap! The sales associate sold me a used, tester product
