The Jackson Clinic Family Medicine Center and Urgent Care

I wouldn’t recommend anyone go here or send their children either. This was my daughter’s first appointment on her own. She left feeling humiliated, discriminated against, and afraid. The provider (Shelley Byrd) was unprofessional, biased, tone deaf, and had terrible bedside manner. Her nonverbal communication spoke volumes and gave us an awful first experience of receiving care in Montgomery. When the provider verbalized her care plan and it was not the standard or sufficient for my child’s needs I spoke up to reiterate certain information and question her decisions. To see a provider rolling her eyes and twisting her face up as I spoke was very frightening for my daughter. Shelley attempted to treat my daughter based on her personal assumptions and bias. NP Shelly and all the staff are super caring and friendly. I even commented to them how much I appreciated their care. Shelly was personable, kind, caring, listened and truly understood my desires for my treatment and is so committed to help me accomplish my goals. She referred me to a doctor for specialized care that I think is absolutely wonderful. I am so thankful she is involved in my health care. She is so capable.

Totally incompetent. I have been waiting on a prescription to get filled for over 6 weeks. I have called and gone up there in person at least 4 times. They keep promising to do it but it hasn't been done. Staff seems to not care or have any motivation to assist patients. I need to find another doctor. ASAP

The staff was friendly and quick with getting my spouse seen and handled his needs very efficiently. The Nurse Practitioner Shelly was very nice and professional, displaying excellent bedside manner.

Today, I found myself at the Jackson clinic, seeking help for an infection that arose from antibiotics. As I approached the front desk, the woman there greeted me warmly, but then a lady from behind her coldly informed me that they were no longer accepting patients and that no one could be seen after 5:30. I felt a wave of disbelief wash over me, as my watch clearly read 5:33. I pointed this out, but she simply reiterated that it was past the cutoff time. The kind lady at the desk went to check with the provider, and after a moment, she returned to tell me that I could be seen. Just as I began to fill out my paperwork, the nurse in purple reappeared, her demeanor shifting as she informed me that the provider would not be able to assist me because I was pregnant.
