The Idea Store

I love this place for what it is: a place to scavange for the opportunity to reuse a vast variety of odds for art projects with odd requirements. The place is extremely artist-friendly and queer-friendly. The biggest problem is the concept itself. Because they focus entirely on reusing donated odds and ends, they have no permanent stock of anything and every single time I've tried to find something there I've failed and ended up having to buy something suitable new from the art coop or elsewhere online.

Lots of different craft supplies for super cheap. They have tons of good collage materials. I almost always find what I'm looking for. They also have a good selection of books, magazines, records, posters, office supplies, etc.

It does feel a little overpriced for what it is, but this place is honestly really cool and super unique I’ve never been anywhere quite like it. You can find jars, clock parts, old sewing machines, cardboard tubes just a crazy variety of stuff for art or weird little projects. It’s definitely a fun place to browse if you’re into upcycling or crafting.

Amazing place with good old scraps for projects, everything is reasonable priced and the setup is very good I would have no clue how to categorize all this stuff but they make it look like light work!

A bit overpriced for what I consider a thrift/secondhand store. That being said, they do have a wild selection of all sorts of weird and unusual stuff you wouldn’t typically expect. I’ve been in a few times and have been surprised by some of the odd items I’ve found. When I have an unusual task, this store comes to mind. Worth the trip but don’t be surprised if you walk out with nothing. You just never know what you’ll find.
