The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Utica

My father stayed there for a month and a half. He stated that no one ever came back when they said that they would and half the time they didn't know what they were doing, the food was cold , and his care was not up to standards. When he left the facility and returned the staff didn't even know of his return and acted like he was never a client there . Ontop of this when you called there to get ahold of a charge nurse there was never one available to speak with, or anyone at the station for that matter , yet every time you went to visit there was atleast 2-3 people sitting there , one would be eating , another filing their nails . I have to say there were a good handful of people there who did actually know what was going on but, the rest ...... you get the drift

This place seems to get a lot of negative comments and reviews and I used to believe them until i witnessed the care they give personally here at the Grand of Utica. Today was my great grandmothers 100th birthday and staff here at the Grand of Utica went above and beyond for her birthday today. The staff planned her a big party and we as the family were shocked to see how much they did for her. The Grand arranged a catered lunch for the residents and family. Not only did they get lunch catered for everybody they arranged something with the Mayor Of Utica to come and present my great grandmother a certificate for her birthday. And not just that the grand also arranged to have live music there as well for her! They also had my great grandmother dressed up very cute and nicely for her birthda

Hi my grandma has been in the hospital for the last 5 days and she was sent to the grand to help her get her memory on knowing how to do daily stuff and when she got there the bed was basically broken there were food crumbs all over the place and when we told the manager about the bed that she can break her hand,head,leg and they said that’s normal for someone to break there hand or head like what I’ve never heard or seen someone like that this place is a disgrace and do not recommend this place to anyone pleaseeeeeeeee stay away and find somewhere better.

I have been a resident for over a month here at the grand facility. Health, faculty, nurses and aides need to respond fastly to the residents when needed. I do not care for my doctor on call. . I do benefit from the therapy and activities here at the facility. They have helped me a lot on my journey. Some of the nurses on my unit are wonderful, and some of them could use some help.

I am here for short term rehabilitation, and I have to say that I have been getting great care, the nurses and the aides are doing a phenomenal job. I appreciate them all. I am going through therapy to strengthen my legs after falling back in August and breaking my left leg. The therapists have been awesome, they are doing everything they can, to get me back on my feet again, (pun intended). If you are ever given the choice to be in a rehabilitation, for what ever reason, pick The Grand, you will not be disappointed.
