The Braces Place

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at Braces Place in Lawrence. They lied to me and completely mishandled my payment. I was told I had a credit, yet they charged me $200 for an extra pair of retainers, claiming afterward that I had already “used” the entire credit and would have to pay that same amount again. That’s unacceptable and feels like a scam. There’s no transparency, no proper explanation, and zero accountability. I expected professionalism and honesty, especially when dealing with medical and financial matters. I would not recommend this place to anyone — be very cautious and make sure to get everything in writing before paying them anything.

They are always short staffed and leave you waiting in the lobby for a long time. Based on my experience, it is a place without organization. My case is different, where I have to get an implant in another clinic that they referred me to, but they never contacted the clinic to tell them what they needed. They made me go to Boston to waste time. After that, I had an appointment with them to check if there was enough space for the implant and they told me that they had not yet contacted the clinic and that they could not do anything. They did not have the control to handle that, but they made me waste a lot of my time. I called this place 7 times in a span of several months about a cavity I had to get filled at their dental practice. Each and everytime I called they kept telling me I had to wait for insurance to give them a price…even after telling them I would pay out of pocket. They were very unhelpful but very quick to charge me thousands for braces removal. I tried getting my x-rays from them to transfer over to another practice and they told me I had to wait two weeks which even my new dentist said was odd. I ended up taking my own route and found another dental practice who assisted me immediately and came to find out the cavity was so bad from getting left untreated so long.

Horrible Horrible Service I took my daughter for a consultation for braces and I was just looking for a quote to pay cash and full price for the braces. After more than 10 calls and having to wait for more than 3 months they keep telling me they have to wait for the insurance which makes no sense since I wanted to pay for it out of pocket and was not looking into any discounts. Today I called again after waiting and waiting for a quote to find out I have to go back for another consultation. They definitely do not want money. I will be going somewhere else. I just which they didn’t waste my time.

I give them a lot of two stars but I think they deserve one. In all the time of my treatment there has never been an appointment to see me on time. Until now, I think my treatment is going well, but the doctors are very indecisive about what to do and what not to do, and sometimes they have had to change one procedure for another. The girls at the front desk are quite friendly, however they schedule appointments for you and then cancel when you arrive or change them at the last minute.
