The Blue Ridge Music Center

Nice little visitors center with mini museum off the beaten path of the blue ridge parkway. Nice gift shop, clean bathrooms. Friendly rangers and access to some walking trails as well. Sometimes has live music events. There’s an amphitheater a short walk from the man visitors center.

What a wonderful stop along the Blue Ridge Parkway! We spent a few hours here and loved every moment. We brought a picnic and made use of the picnic tables for lunch—a perfect way to enjoy the peaceful mountain scenery before heading inside. The museum on site is small but so well done, telling the story of Appalachian music with videos, exhibits, and interactive displays. Afterward, we enjoyed the live music in the breezeway—local musicians playing bluegrass and old‑time tunes, which gave the place such an authentic and welcoming atmosphere. The staff was friendly, the grounds are beautiful, and it’s a great mix of music, culture, and nature. If you’re driving the Blue Ridge Parkway, definitely make time to stop here.

Very nice Music center in the Blue Ridge mountains! It's free to enjoy the museum and a variety of activities, including libe music on certain days. Staff is very friendly. You really can get submerged into the history of Bluegrass and other music that originated in the area. Very educational and a nice spot to stop while exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains!

A true gem for music lovers. Amazing museum which highlights the rich music history of the Appalachians. The weekly summer concert series is not to be missed. Wonderful live music, outdoors on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Bring lawn chairs and a cooler and enjoy amazing music. The staff is so friendly it is a true feel good place.

My family stumbled upon this gem while driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway. They play music from 12:00-3:00...we arrived just in time to hear two songs just before they were done. Beautiful mountain music! 💞They also have a small museum and gift shop with magnets, mugs, shirts and sweatshirts.
