The Belvedere

The nurses and employees were very attentive, polite and professional with me. My husband was there for a short respite visit. I'm basing my observations according to my experience as a visitor on one occasion.

I visited this third-age facility and was very disappointed by the conditions on the first floor. The smell was overwhelmingly strong, a mix of urine and food, and the temperature was uncomfortably hot. It made the environment feel very unpleasant. The basement level (B floor) was a bit more decent and better maintained, but overall, the facility needs serious attention to cleanliness and ventilation, especially in the main areas.

The Belvedere's staff are always so welcoming whenever I visit their community. Always greeted with a smile and pointed in the right direction.Chestnut Ridge Wallingford has created a wonderful partnership with the Belvedere and we look forward to creating more memories.

2nd and 3rd shift yells all night long, like it's a party. They play loud music and do not allow residents a quite hour (10 pm -6am) and in fact start their loudness again 1st thing in the morning. It's a horrible place for rest. Most residents sleep during the day because they get no sleep t night. Getting medication is another area of concern. You need to pull your call bell well in advance at which time an aide will turn it off and either get you a nurse or ignore your needs. It's a crap shoot. Your sheets are not changed unless you ask for it to be done. Some residents are expected to go to the bathroom in a commode, which no one cleans. This is also on the resident. The hospice companies are there to collect money. They do not care and do not advocate for you. A place for mom?? Yup,
