Sutter Urgent Care

My latest visit to Urgent Care was a most positive experience! Fortunately, I arrived just before opening time, had no wait, and was seen by Dr. Oulashian, who demonstrated good listening skills and medical knowledge, and validated the steps I was already taking for my condition. He did not automatically prescribe antibiotics as old school physicians have done in the past, and provided several OTC and holistic remedies and reassurance. Thank you.

This place is huge! So lots and lots of patients could be waiting in front of you for a loooonnnggg wait to be seen. I happened to go at 7:30pm (they close at 8pm) and it wasn't too bad. Saw an 'assistant' (no definition of what kind of assistant) within ten minutes. Then back to the waiting room. About ten more minutes and then saw a PA (presume 'physician's assistant') to look at my wound and then back to the waiting room. About 10 more minutes and taken to see the PA again (by the way, he never gave me his name) and he said he was going to have the assistant wash the wound and give me a tetanus and penicillin injection. All great, so far. The new assistant came in to the room and sort of washed the wound and applied an antibiotic cream (which I turned out to be allergic to!!!) a

Care was good. Imaging is not available after noon on Fridays. If you think you'll need imaging when the clinic isn't open, I suggest calling first. I wound up having to go to the ER to get imaging. Sutter planned to refund my copay but I didn't have one.

The urgent care saw me and performed the necessary test to determine that I needed to go to Emergency for treatment. I was very impressed at how prompt they were in urgent care. The staff were compassionate and empathized with what my problem was.

Despite being very busy, everyone was friendly and working quickly. They told me the wait was 2 hrs but I was in exam I'm in 1 1/2! Xray Dr was friendly, funny, and fast! Nurse practitioner was knowledgeable and reassuring.
