Stoughton Hospital Urgent Care

The care here was good and quick, but upon receiving my bill I quickly learned that this was not the place I should’ve gone. My bill for an in-network minor diagnosis (just needing an antibiotic) was over $1000. I’ve never been to an “urgent care” that costs so much, because I guess it is an ER and not an urgent care. Very deceptive. They also ran like 4 tests to confirm the same thing (without asking or telling me, until I saw the bill). And when I tried to call multiple times and tell them that, all they said was that if I needed financial assistance they could set that up. They were missing the point of my frustrations. Just be careful.

I was in and out within 20 minutes. No b/p taken. They did do strep test and Covid tests. Never took out a stethoscope. No listening to my lungs but as I was leaving they told me it was clear. They gave me a printout as I was leaving. My meds listed were from 20 years ago, I was not asked a single one. Very poor staffing. The dr asked me what he should know about my health when he came into the room. What? Really? I will never go back there ever!

This place is incredible, from the time you walk in until the time you walk out! They were so friendly, understanding, patient, and kind in a way that I haven’t experienced since moving to the Madison area over two years ago. And yes, they were SO fast and efficient. This experience was the best one I’ve ever had an urgent care and will be the only place I go to in the future. Thank you to every receptionist, nurse, and doctor I came in contact with. You all deserve a raise and a vacation! (I think it’s important to mention that I have severe anxiety so making me feel this way is unfortunately harder to accomplish than I’d like to admit!) Took my son here because he was breaking out in a rash from head to toe. And it really seemed like the nurses and dr couldn’t care less. Maybe it’s bc it was nighttime. Maybe it’s because we are on Badger care. I felt like they weren’t listening to my concerns about what was going on. Instead they insisted the rash is from a cold that he had 2 weeks ago… And they only tested for strep when I think everyone in that room knew it wasn’t strep. I will not waste my time here again as it seems they are doing their job only for their paycheck.

I went to this facility twice, thinking it was an urgent care, but it turns out they essentially billed me for two ER visits. The first time, they didn't do the necessary tests, which forced me to return. If they had done the tests initially, I wouldn't have had to come back. It's misleading to label it as urgent care and then charge ER prices. Now, I'm stuck with over $3,000 in bills that I can't afford. I've been making monthly payments as best as I can, but they've sent my debt to a collection agency, impacting my credit score. In my opinion, medical debt shouldn't affect anyone's credit, given how outrageous it is in America. I have many medical bills that I am trying to pay off and no other hospital has ever taken it this far. I will never return to this greedy place.
