St. Joseph Hospital Emergency Department

Great place. I was taken care of well by nurses and doctors. I was there for five days and was only asked twice if I needed any water. They did ask if I needed anything, but water should be a standard issue at all times... especially when you're hooked up to oxygen and IV's. Make sure family and friends bring you snacks because they only offer free packets of unsalted crackers (2 per pack) and graham crackers (2 per pack), hardly enough for me. I understand it's not a hotel, but you're paying way more for your stay at the hospital!

Medical Malpractice - Patient Neglect. Would leave a negative if I could. I have watched this hospital do some wild and wack stuff...but what beats it all was watching them almost kill my nephew. He came into the ER vomiting blood. First - they threw away the blood instead of culturing it. When asking the Dr. if we are going to do a GI or any scan to see what is causing it, her response "you may never figure that out". She chalked it up to a nose bleed as there was crusted blood on his nose from puking out of his nose...his bloodwork showed his blood levels were still decreasing after 3 blood workups....and they DISCHARGED him. He is currently in Boston due to now blood in his stool. This hospital should not have an ER if the solution is to just get them back out the door without finding

Didn't care to listen and fought me when I tried to leave the hospital due to lack of care. Used fear tactics to try to keep me there. Wouldn't listen when I explained what I thought the issue was and even showed them proof and research from reputable sources. Kept rejecting it, but it turns out I was right when I worked on it with a neurologist. I had really low blood pressure and heart rate at age 24 (this happened in May of 2024) and needed emergency meds in an ambulance. Then they starved me for 5 hours, causing a major migraine, and didn't listen to my multiple requests for food. I recommend Parkland Medical Center instead. Much better hospital that actually listens to you!

Waited 4 hours with a 5mo old baby in the emergency room and not a single nurse or doctor checked on my baby. Disappointed.

Was in Emergency room in July had a reaction to medication but being type 1 diabetic had to go back seven times for hydration they took me in with in 6 minutes was the longest wait I had they were courteous, attentive to my issue I could not eat or drink due to severe reaction to ,meds they listened and had such compassion for the issue I felt well cared for after a month the meds were out of my system and back to good health now I first went to Elliot Hospital I was vomiting and they didn’t care gave me a bag and let me sit for hours and hours by the 14 hour in the waiting room they saw me and rushed my bag of hydration and sent me packing after 18 hours I call my PCP and she told me to head to StJoes and I’ll never go back to Elliot again
