Why in the world are the phlebotomists doing the paperwork and handing out copays before drawing blood? Is that why we had to wait an hour for labs? It seems MedStar has truly mastered the art of administrative theater. And then, after all that, I couldn't even pay my copay on the way out! MedStar is a truly unique institution, seemingly dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in patient waiting times and baffling processes. Bravo!

This one star is just one aspect of admin, not the entire practice. I showed at 8:15 for a blood draw. The receptionist seemed to have contempt I didn’t know where and how to sign in, and informed me there would be an hour wait - outside in my car in July. I found a shady spot to sit outside, and within 5 minutes I received a text they were ready. When I asked the lab tech why people had to wait outside and it was only a 5-minute wait instead of the hour I’d been told, she said it’s normally busy, and maybe admin didn’t know they were caught up. Note, there was NO ONE in the waiting room with at least 20 seats available in full view of the receptionist. It felt like she enjoys making people miserable. It’s rare to find this degree of apathy in the healthcare field. They should reevaluate

Been going to this practice for 10 years. They've always been more than helpful, from booking last minute appointments, to the nurses and doctors being helpful with minimum judgement.

If I could leave zero starts thats the only options. Horrible practice. Medstar is a failure upon the local "health care" if you can call it care.
