I have been trying for over two weeks to get a neurology-related appointment scheduled, and the process has been extremely frustrating and disorganized. The neurology office initially contacted me to say they could not see the patient because his stroke occurred within the last year. They told me he needed to see a neuro-interventionist and provided a phone number. When I called the neuro-interventionist’s office, they were completely confused as to why the patient was being referred. I explained multiple times that the patient has had a stroke and also has atrial fibrillation. They then requested that all medical records be faxed over, which I promptly did. Trust the reviews and go somewhere else. I had my primary care physician refer me here for migraines and unique issues from multiple inner ear surgeries. They sent the referral over to them and the first time I called they said they needed a referral and I told them I had one and told me a doctor had to refer me. All I needed was a referral so I called my PCP back and PCP said the referral was still good and in the system (my PCP works with SSM). So I called back the next day and they wouldn't even look at my information or referral and decided to tell me the second time I called that I have to have a pre-diagnoses before seeing any doctors there, I have to have a full blood panel, brain scan - MRI & CT scan, before I can see anyone, and I'm trying to go here to get diagnosed. Lack of communication - Wife made an appointment for 06-20-24 back in early May 2024. Didn’t get notice of pre requisites needed until 2 hours before the appointment. Wasn’t explained why these pre requites were needed. This should have been explained before making the appointment. Instead of wasting the last month and a half waiting, could have been going through the correct procedures. This crucial oversight is costing more pseudo seizure injuries and wasted time.

I absolutely love Dr. Hepner! Unfortunately, I have consistently had bad experiences with the staff, hence only three stars. But good neurologists are hard to find, so it's been worth coming back.

Literally described to the girl on the phone, symptoms that describe a focal seizure. Told her I have a history of seizures. Since i haven't had one, that i know of for sure, for 10 years. Im not important, at least thats the vibe she put off. I couldn't describe my symptoms well enough for her, and the doctors there "are specialists so they need to know more". Maybe you should hire people to answer the phone who actually know something about seizures and the signs. Maybe a simple Google search of symptoms would help them out. Everywhere seems to have a wait for an appointment but this is the only place that made me feel like my problem, wasn't their problem. The last place I called and a 3 minute phone conversation affirmed why. Very disappointing and frustrating
