Spira Care Olathe

Had an appointment scheduled for today. They changed my appointment time due to an "emergency", stated that they attempted to contact to let me know (which they did not). Waste of time. This is probably why I haven't wasted time going to the doctor since I was 18. Horrible help they have.

I am new to Spira Care. I wasn't feeling well and called.at 8 am for a sick appointment. The receptionist on the phone was very nice and was able to get me in at 10:15 am. She also scheduled me for my annual physical at a later date. I was greeting by warm, welcoming receptionists. They went out of their way to offer me coffee or water. The wait was less than 5 minutes before I was called to an exam room. The nurses, doctors and staff were pleasant, listened, provided remedies and I am now at home healing from my sickness. Thank you!

I was nervous when my employer offered employees the chance to switch Spira, but when my PCP moved to Spira I thought changing policies would be worth the try. I’m very happy with our coverage and care. I appreciate the various locations to get in when unexpected things happen and have always had good scheduling service and helpful staff at all locations. I’ll always keep on top of things to make sure we stay informed and if the policy/network changes. But maybe for the first time ever I’m not always shaking my head at BCBSKC paperwork/billing charges and scheduling for our family’s well being. This has been great.

While I did not like the fact BCBS essentially forced me into using Spira Care (cut my deductibles in half) the care I have received from the Olathe Spira Care is head and shoulders above what I was receiving from my previous primary doctor. Very clean facilities, very friendly staff, and extremely good care.

We have utilized the Olathe, Shawnee, and Crossroads locations. Staff are always welcoming and friendly. We always see nurse practitioners, which are nice when you only need a check up or for small things. I keep asking myself, where are the actual doctors? Getting an appointment is tough unless you talk with the nurse directly. Appointment setters aren't much help, unless your willing to wait 1-2 months. It's a big struggle to get in quickly for sickness. If your not able to reach the nurse or if the "care guide" refuses to transfer you then you might as well find a different provider. We have a family with a variety of needs, we have had mixed experiences with this new system. Not sure if we will renew at this time (6 months in), but we will see how the rest of the year turn out.
