After a skydiving accident, I struggled for years with severe lower back pain that radiated into my hip and down my leg. Following extensive physical therapy and consultations with multiple doctors, I ultimately decided to pursue surgery. In 2008, Dr. Pitt performed a spinal fusion at L5-S1, and the results were life-changing. His knowledge, skill, and compassionate bedside manner are truly second to none. The surgery was a complete success, and I felt like I had my life back. By 2014, normal wear and tear from an active lifestyle required a laminectomy just above the fusion. I met Dr Pitt after a horrific spinal cord accident in Bermuda. I was cliff jumping and shattered T12 in my back. Dr. Pitt was the spine specialist available on the island. He ordered all of the appropriate tests, gave me my options for treatment and performed emergency spinal surgery. He advised me that when I got back to the US that would likely need a second surgery. He did such an amazing job that I did not need the second surgery and in just over a month I am well on my way to recovery. From the moment I walked in the door the receptionist/Office Mgr teated me so well and was incredibly warm, friendly and professional. I had a short wait for the doctor, but he was thorough in asking about my previous spinal issues and surgeries. He has been a wonderful doctor who gives me the truth - good & bad, but information that is needed when one is needing surgery. I am very impressed and so is my husband. Dr. Pitt knows his phit. I was a late patient by like 48 hours and will probably have lasting issues. Getting into xrays, MRI and surgery was extremely quick. I am grateful beyond!
