SOMC Hospice

My Mom was admitted into SOMC Inpatient Hospice in Feb 2023. After 2 days of being near death, she miraculously "rallied". She was released at that time. From Feb-Nov she was in/out of the hospital, 2 nursing facilities & a brief stay in her home. She always pleaded to go back to the hospice facility because they were so amazing. The last 30 hours of her life were spent back there & I am forever grateful. I was with her & the care they gave to both of us will never be forgotten. I cannot express in words how much it still means to me that my sweet Mom passed with the best care I could have ever hoped for.

The end-of-life care my sister received in Sept 2023 at SOMC Hospice was excellent, as well as the support the staff offered and gave to our entire family. Their expert care and attention to her comfort was phenomenal. They permitted us (no matter how many) to remain close to her round the clock, informed us of her stats and condition approximately every two hours and at every stage along the way. The professional Nurse Practitioner was there daily to keep us informed, answering all our questions and had wonderful prayer sessions with the family. Also, a special tribute to Ray, the therapy doodle dog! He gets a Gold Star⭐️! We are grateful to this institution. Thank you, The family of Regina Faye Waddell

Although we didn't see much of Ray the therapy dog, we truly did have plenty of space for our final goodbyes and the extra rooms to just step away was so helpful. We were very thankful the staff didn't rush us to say our goodbyes. We can't thank them enough for that time after she passed to say goodbye.

A beautiful place for my momma and our family..the love support an kindness. We will never forget.....

All staff has been absolutely amazing to my mother and our family. Including Ray the Therapy dog.The room was very clean and comfortable. The care our mother received was an absolute blessing.
