Simpson Place Assisted Living

This place was very disappointing. There was no one at the front desk except on the 6th floor, and the building had a bad smell. It took almost two hours for staff to check on my mom, which is unacceptable. The food they were giving out was just plain bread with nothing else. There was only one nurse for the entire floor. Overall, the staffing and conditions were very concerning didn’t have nothing ready. This facility should be shut down and should not be recommended

Ohhhh God. This place is absolutely terrible! Some residents have the administrator wrapped around their finger. Weed is smoked up there everyday and night. If you are under the awning and another resident is kicking you they don’t have a camera out there in order to protect the person that’s being violated. They choose to lie to your family and rip your family apart. Even with a police report they try to cover their backs. It’s all about hiding something from the state so they don’t have that report or the fines, they are protecting their jobs and desperately trying to protect their reviews in order when they are despicable to residents and they want to be sure they can get more money from the next victim! My father moved into this place in April 2023. Simpson Place Assisted Living has been a big disappointment. I've tried to reach out the Administration, who responded with a standard form response. I contacted the State of Texas who is supposed to be investigating these claims. Before you place anyone you love and care about in this facility please request a full tour of the facility, all 6 floors. Here is what we have found since my father moved in: Stairwells have junk furniture laying in the pathway. The facility has bed bugs on all floors The carpets are filthy and smell of smoke and urine. Our mother lived in nursing care at Simpson Place for just over two years. The discovery and move-in process with Corey was very good. My mother received good care while there. This is an older facility and could use some updating. The staff on the 6th floor was generally very good. There were several staff who we came to know well and they showed kindness and care for our mother. Our experience with the business staff was very different. The longtime financial person was not a good communicator, gave conflicting information and would not follow-up or respond with consistency. Communicate by email and not over the phone. The management needs to intervene with this person.

My Father was admitted to Simpson Place for skilled nursing. The staff was caring, attentive, & happy to answer questions and concerns. Therapy team really helped my dad get stronger. So grateful to the staff at Simpson Place!
