Silver Springs Care Center

My husband was at Silver Springs Care Center so I could have a respite. I have to say the administration and staff are wonderful. They took very good care of him. They all learned his name and personality in the short time he was there. The facility is older but for me it is the care of the staff. I also heard no complaints about the food hubby. From what I saw I would have no complaints either. All and all I would use the center again.

Our experience with Silver Spring Rehab was absolutely unacceptable. My grandfather was not given the care and attention he deserved—in fact, he ended up being discharged to the VA due to malnutrition. That alone speaks volumes about the level of neglect. I constantly had to stay on top of the care team just to make sure he received basic human care and decency. No family should have to fight so hard just to ensure their loved one is treated with respect and dignity. This facility failed our family in every way. I strongly urge others: do not let your loved one stay here. Run for the hills.

The end room where families gather needs far better seating accommodations and perhaps a paint job with a happier color. It also needs plant life that the patients can tend to and some more artwork to adorn the walls as it is drab. Furthermore, the TV doesn't work. How about a radio with some sweet music? This seems a simple fix. They could be showing decent movies there all day. Instead, there is a piano that functions but I never see anyone playing it. Staff members seem helpful and courteous enough. If I had my choice, I would likely place my loved one elsewhere but I am not in control of her destiny at the moment. That may change and if and when it does, I plan to withdraw her from this place and send her to a different institution with more activities and attention to detail.

First of all let me say the place is filthy. Second, it smells bad. I visited a friend there, all the water is turned off and I couldn’t even flush the toilet after I used it. Believe me when I tell you I didn’t not want to use it. I wouldn’t send my pets there, let alone a loved one.. There is mold on the ceiling tiles, dripping down the wall behind his bed. Black mold. It’s so filthy around the door handles are nearly black from dirt. Never been washed. White doors with black filth on the bottom and handles. This place should be shut down. And since I am being basically being called a liar by someone replying to me that these statements are untrue HOW ABOUT SOME PHOTOS TO BACK UP MY STATEMENTS. We have feces in a toilet that would not flush, and by the looks of it I’ll bet it was used mo

Horrible experience. Some staff very unprofessional, Watched jantorial staff wash over dirt and push it further under chair. Nurse giving wrong amount of med to patient. Staff yelling at clients. my family member is no longer there but sad part is some of our veterans are and elderly people living there that can't go home. and homeless people waiting for housing. Food is always cold including coffee. There is one person that works there her name is Tess. She is a dedicated employee. through this horrible experience she tried to make things bearable for my family member. This place doesnt deserve a rating with the filth, cold food and bugs in bathroom.
