I’m so sad to leave Dr. Lauren Girard. She is a good doctor, I have been established with her for around 5 years now. The office has been understaffed at the front and I guess also the back office for a very long time. Many mistakes had been made with my prescription medications. I had to call multiple times during the holiday season and go in person for a prescription refill to be filled for 2 weeks. Then I went in for my annual a month ago, and for some reason only received one refill when I usually receive 6. For the past 3 years this has never changed. I called the office as soon as they were open Monday, and the mistake was not corrected for another business day when I only had enough from the pharmacy for the weekend. I’ve finally had enough in dealing with Shores Medical Center about prescription refills and meds in general. While I’ve had no issues with the Doctors and ARNP. They do an excellent job and spend time with you. Wait times are not bad either. But when it comes to having medications refilled it’s a nightmare. I get texts from CVS stating that they have tried multiple times to get Rx refills approved and get no response from Shores Medical Center. I have to call or drive to their office and be a little nasty to get the refills handled. Today was kind of the last straw. I called asking if it was possible to get some antibiotics called into the pharmacy for worsening respiratory infection. Of course it’s Friday, it’s after 5pm and no Rx called in. Im a regular patient here and this office is so slow. Not to mention the phone operator(not the front desk staff) is a crotchety old lady that has no right taking phone calls if she can't even talk to people nicely. If this want the only place that took my insurance around me I wouldn't be here. If I could give 0 stars I would. I shouldn't have to wait over an hour for an appointment when all I have is a quick checkup.

Dr. Girard is great! Takes her time with you to address all your questions, needs and concerns but the wait time (to see either doctors) when showing up for your appointment is ridiculous. I have NEVER been seen at or even near my appointment time or even taken back to a room to be pre-assessed by the PA. My appointments are only to get medicine refills and should be very short but have never been shorter than 1.5 hours (that’s on a good day!) and 99% of that time is the wait time in the office. My time is just as valuable as the staff here- they need to work on time/appointment management.

Very glad that Dr. Woodard is in my network. He is very caring and to the point, which is hard to come by. Both his medical assistants are very knowledgeable and friendly. Every time I have called I never had a problem and what I called about was taken care of in a quick manner. ALL front desk women are welcoming and kind. Definitely recommend for anyone that wants an all around great medical experience.
