Used intimidation tactics when she felt slighted; including coming up to me in an otherwise near empty waiting room and glared at me from 3 ft away until I finally asked if she needed anything… apparently Mayo’s policy regarding “no retaliation” does not extend to their Jacksonville Clinic. Mayo has known about and ALLOWED me PERSONALLY to be physically intimidated and assaulted in their GI department. I hope Ms. Spinner got the result she wanted. Retaliatory SA on a very ill and vulnerable patient. Mayo Clinic as an organization should be appalled by the actions of their Jacksonville department of gastroenterology & hepatology. Specifically, Dr Brian E Lacy and Ms. Shayla Spinner.

Everyone is so nice and professional

Shayla Spinner is one of the best doctors at Mayo Clinic. Dr Spinner saved my life by reviewing x-rays from another hospital, showing I had a double hernia. Dr Spinner arranged for robotic surgery, with their best surgeon. My surgery was 10 hours and really helped me as I had been suffering for 18 months from an outside hospital. Dr Spinner had seen on net that I had been treated in ED at Advent Hospital at Palm Coast for abdominal pain. Advent did not know what they were seeing in x-rays as I have a stoma bag from kidney disease from bladder cancer and chemo. I have an ileal conduit from the kidneys to a bag on my side, which in an x-ray looks like a hernia. My insides were trying to fall out thru the stoma. Very painful. Mayo Clinic is the #1 hospital in Florida.
