Shakira S. Shanker, MD - True North Neurology

In aug of 2024 Was told my tremor was most likely due to stress and i should address it. So at that point whoever i spoke to ask some additional questions was very cold and i was told there was nothing they could do for me. Went on anti anxiety and therapy for over a year. Still had a feeling i could not shake and went to another specialist who extensively tested my motor skills and sent me for a special test which confirmed that i have Parkinsons. How does a “specialist” miss that?

I scheduled appointments and consequently extensive testing with Dr. Shanker due to a serious car accident. I chose her because of her high rating. Although she seems a very nice person, I was very disappointed with her care. I was scheduled for five tests. During one, the office called my cell to inform me that I had to reschedule my test because I was a no show. I had to explain that I was IN their back exam room. I had a cognitive test during which I was able to hear the doctor consulting another patient. I told the supervisor that I could not concentrate and was told that "distraction is part of the test", which turned out to be untruthful. With an EMG, Dr greeted me with " so why are they having you take this test?" I explained SHE had ordered the test. I sent a letter of complaint

nothing is more terrifying or nerve wracking when having issues with the brain post car accident. Dr. Shankar immediately displayed so much concern and compassion that really helped ease my stress levels. I am getting an MRInas she requested tomorrow and hoping i can get some answers but as a first time patient and doing due diligence. I am seeing another doctor at the practice next week and am confident i will get the same treatment as I have multiple issues that are worry some. Thanks Dr. Shankar I had the MRI completed this morning and put a stat on the report which you should receive Monday the latest. Also I need to call to see if I can get to see Dr Yaun earlier than Friday. I’ll call the office. Thanks again for your compassion

Won't help me now because my car accident was 2½ years ago. Doesnt want to help patients using no fault once its been over 2 years from the accident. What's that say about values and caring about patients?

My migraine doctor for years now - She is helpful and knowledge but more then that she is compassionate
