Select Specialty Hospital - Fort Myers

We had my stepdaughter in this hospital for more than 30 days, and the care was very good. Honestly, we have no complaints. All the staff helped her greatly.

This place is a death trap. Don’t let the hospital send any of your family members to this facility. They don’t know what they are doing. Different workers give you a different diagnosis. My father past away at this place an awful death. And I wish I would have changed him from here before things got bad. They had him on no liquids and no food to prevent aspiration. However, they would give him his medication and they wouldn’t crush them. They will give it to him whole and have him swallow, big gobs of water, which makes no sense for someone who’s trying to prevent aspiration. This place was awful and now I can’t change what happen so all I can do is prevent others from leaving there love ones in this terrible place.

My mother is at Select now. This is an amazing facility! They are a 60 bed hospital with just about every specialty (no orthopedic or obstetric departments). The doctors are kind, compassionate and honest. The nurses are very caring. The social workers are on top of everything, communicating with everyone. Food service does an excellent job of meeting the patient's needs. Everyone takes the time to answer all of our questions. They have included me in their rounds ( on my mother's care). I can't say enough good things about this hospital. Please open a Select in Sarasota!

I happened to be a patient when it was formally known as Promise Hospital in 2018. I said that if I had the need to return I wouldn’t hesitate. I’m currently back in under the Select Specialty Hospital name and I can personally attest that the care and attention that I am currently receiving is above and beyond my previous experience of 6 years ago for this reason. Today’s stress levels are much greater on everyone in general. Yet the Mood Attitude, and level Care and Attention reflected among ALL the employees here is hard to describe in words. Keep up the good work Select Specialty Hospital! It’s Greatly Appreciated 🙏🌹🙏

My husband was brought here for removal of a tracheostomy. It was removed Friday afternoon. Close to 5 pm that same night, the doctor came in to check him out, telling him that he’d looked great and that he’d be sent home on Monday. After he left, he was COMPLETELY ignored by all staff at night. He’d call for nurse for a drink or assistance going to the bathroom & would have to wait 3-5 HOURS before anyone would come in. Day nursing staff was ok. Night time AWFUL.
