Select Specialty Hospital - Daytona Beach

My husband received care at Select Specialty Hospital, and our experience was very positive. The staff showed genuine compassion and made us feel supported during a difficult time. James, the charge nurse, was attentive, professional, and reassuring. The CNAs were wonderful and always kind and helpful, especially Janel, Krystina, and Chito. The nurses, are wonderful including Sophia and Elaine, were compassionate and attentive. The wound care team provided excellent care and attention. 5 stars for the Respiratory Therapy staff! They are quick to respond when my mom needs alittle extra support. I know they are doing everything they can for my mom. They have a couple handfuls of Nursing staff and CNAs, all whom have been very pleasant when communicating, and a few that really go the extra mile with compassion and diligence but Select medical could stand to have more staff on duty, sometimes there just isnt enough hands to go around and i can see why patients and family members could get frustrated. They also could benefit with staffing continuity. Staffing the same Nurse and CNA to care for patients when working their swing shifts to help develop a trust and understanding for the patient. We want to give a special thanks to Chris and Ashley who made one of the most difficult days/nights of our lives "easier". From little things like a hug to big things like turning Dad's room into the most comforting place, with beds for us to sleep in so we could be right by Dad's side. With nice cozy blankets and sheets. Sharing of prayers, jokes, stories and tears, made our day/night just a little brighter. And we can't forget Chito!!!! He loved my dad like he was his own! "Pops" he would call him. He made sure my dad was shaven and clean, and took care of my mom just like we would. and Christina, so warm and caring. Oh my goodness, it was such an amazing group of people, and if I name them all, this post would never end Thank you all for loving my dad and mom too! All of you. x

My mom Peggy stayed here for almost 2 weeks in room 1112, while I slept next to her. Everyone was so compassionate. I would like to personally thank Dee Gillet! She went above and beyond in her kindness and generosity. I would also like to thank and recognize Chito, Leslie and Chris Brand. They would take time out of their busy day to educate, inform me and entertain me with their humor. Not being from here, we weren’t sure what to expect. Chito treated my mother like she was his own mom. Everyone I mentioned are such great ambassadors for your company. If I could, I would give them all a raise myself. I highly recommend them to anyone who is in need of their care and services.

I have helped by a lot of CNA. One stands out Janel CNA has always been cheerful will you with a smile. Some CNA if you the call button they let you know that they are not here for the patient they don’t want to be there. Not Janel she there for the patient. Being in the hospital is not a happy place. It’s great to have a great CNA that always willing to help with a smile. Janel is one of the best thank you for hiring her.
