Select Specialty Hospital - Ann Arbor

I'm speaking about the care my husband received at the Ann Arbor location. He was so ill, I was asked to discuss end of life plans. By the grace of God and staffing, especially RN Mary who consistently cared for him the longest, she was so thoughtful and thorough in her care for him and to me to continue his care at home. RN Mary is a blessing. I truly learned very useful tips from her. Thank you even to Chauncey who guided me, when I was being misguided, to ensure what was needed to be at home for his discharge. There is a presentation of team work that I observed. Please ask, if needed if your love one can receive care from Select Specialty Hospital, it made a difference and my husband is discharging to home.

HIGHLY ADVICE TO NOT AGREE TO A TRANSFER!!! **Somehow my review from 2024 was removed....weird 🫩** Terrible. Ultimately my LO passed. I feel this is 99.9% due to their care or lack there of. Blood work was showing signs of issues but no reaction. Their legacy system didn't allow for family to see the downward trends and question accordingly. Their results are printed on PAPER! Found my LO getting his teeth brushed and blood everywhere. He knew before I did that he was done. Ultimately my LO was found unresponsive, in the few hours I wasn't present as I didn't trust them. Kathy Bates in Misery is an understatement!!!!

I felt very comfortable at Select Specialty. The doctors and nurses were very clear and efficient when it came to my personal care. I met a lot of nice people during my stay. I would highly recommend Select to others. Mariam my nurse and Sarah my cna helped me prepare for my departure to go very smoothly and stress free. I want to thank everyone who was involved in my care for everything.

I Love Mrs. Cheriy his nurse went over and above her care of duty. She made me and my family feel safe and confident about my husband care. She really gave me hope and I wish I could clone her and sprinkle her around every where my husband needs care...I was not in the best head space emotionally or even physically. I was going through a lot not sleeping or eating "momma Bear" as they called her took me under her wings and made sure that not only my husband was taken care of, but saw the complete package. We hugged and shed tears and found out we had so much in common "(sisters from another mother)"

This was one of the worst hospitals I’ve ever been to. There were only some staff members that had it together because they had bedside manner and strong empathy and compassion while others were only there to simply do a job. Night shift keeps putting my dad at risk withholding his insulin b/c they kept saying they “felt uncomfortable giving him high units” after they allowed he blood sugar to crash instead of speaking with the doctor and finding out why his blood sugar is crashing instead the first place. Their answer is “I don’t know” every time which makes them look incompetent. I was told specifically by the night charge nurse they don’t have to abide by a doctors notes if it’s not in the patients best interest however, them withholding it is actual not in this particular patients best
