Everyone at the office is friendly, kind, and welcoming. They’ve taken great care of my teeth over the years. When I first started going there, I had quite a few cavities that needed to be filled, and they handled everything in a timely and professional manner. I also brought my special needs son in for a cleaning, and they did a good job with him. He was referred out for a cavity, which I understand can happen—especially since treatment can be more complex with autistic children. I don’t fault them for that. However, the offices we were referred to both had over a three-month wait list. Thankfully, I was able to find a dentist in Maquoketa who can complete his cavity without sedation or nitrous oxide if needed. I was a long time patient and had no issues with previous dentists or my teeth until I saw Schmitt. Was told I had a cavity and needed a filling, got the filling. Went in weeks later for consistent pain and was told the wrong tooth was filled and now I needed a root canal, got the root canal. Went and got a second opinion and was told the whole tooth now needed pulled and the tooth in front of it was now in danger! I wouldn’t suggest this office to anyone and I had been going since I was a small child. Much better care other places.

"Dr."Philip Schmidt is probably the worst dentist you could go to. The last time I went here and had him work on my teeth I showed how there was a hole in one of my teeth one the lower part of my mouth. He did some x rays and had me make an appointment to "take care of it" at my next visit. At my next visit there was no communication whatsoever on what was going on at all. I was his last appointment of the day and was told to go head on back, okay where? What area? What chair? Finally some kind soul points out the area they're going to have me in to work on my teeth. I sit down and wait, "Dr." Schmidt comes in and says hello but that's pretty much it. He drilled into my tooth at the top of my mouth that had a very minor cavity on the edge of it putting an ugly metal filling all around it.

Great dentist with amazing staff. Always make you feel welcome. Honestly best dentist me and my children have ever been too. Emma loves to go to the office.
