Santee Cooper Urgent Care

I visited this place on 10/19/25. I brought my son in for a really bad cough and few other symptoms. All of the staff were extremely friendly and quick with their services. I asked one of the Medical Assistants to hold my son while I was filling out the paperwork and she held and loved on my son with grace. Another medical assistant went ahead and checked my son’s breathing and got him swabbed for multiple illnesses in the lobby, while I’m still filling out paper work. Both ladies calmed my son and were gentle, considerate, and compassionate towards him. By the time I was in the room, I found out the results of my son’s illness, which was RSV. Personally I have been dealing with this office for a while. Recently I called to make sure that the doctor I prefer to receive care from would be there on a specific date. When I called it was literally going to be the next day. I was told that the doctor I requested would be in the office the following day. I took the time off of work ,"I am hourly and at this particular time was making 35 per hour" and once I walked in to the office I was notified that my doctor wasn't in and wasn't scheduled to be in that day. The receptionist even went so far as to let me know that my doctor rarely ever works on Fridays and that whoever gave me that information was wrong. Still, I'm stuck with the loss. Came to the office needing a fish hook removed from my son’s foot. It was 5:50 and the doors were locked. Posted closing time is 6:00. A nurse wouldn’t even look at his foot. I’ve been dealing with them for years and this wasn’t a good feeling with an upset/hurting little boy. Granted it was before closing but it just hit me the wrong way when my child couldn’t get care.

We are traveling back to my husband's duty station and my daughter started having respiratory issues. She get chronic infections. These sweet folks got us in fast and helped put my daughter back on the right track to feeling better. She is 4.5 years old and they made her feel right at home. The doctor listened to me, took her history into consideration, and validated my concerns. He made sure we would be okay to travel the rest of the way home with her. Also, super sweet staff. Thank you all for being so kind to us and helping us get our girl to feeling better.

This place could be a whole lot better. After getting two different diagnosis is from two different doctors, I was referred to this facility by a friend. When showing up my co-pay was $50. I was reluctant to pay it but I decided to go ahead because I really want to know whether or not I did have the diagnosis that my other doctor gave me. It took me an hour and a half for me to get called back. Another hour for me to see a doctor. Also, it took another two hours for me to get results from my blood test. I got there at 10:00 AM and then leave until a little after 1 o'clock. Not only that but a lot of the nurses and doctors really need to work on their communication skills and not worried about Snapchat filters .......
