Santa Cruz Physical Therapy

I was shocked to see the reviews for this location. I am coming from out of town for one of the physical therapist here, Casey Olsen. He had been my PT for a while in San Jose. We have searched high and low, so many therapists (even within Sutter), super expensive out-of-network ones as well but Casey understands the anatomy and connectivity of muscles and tissues like no other and work with yours joints and tissue in addition to give you exercises. His recommendation based on examining us has helped some clueless MDs to do extra MRI or test to pin point the cause. We are lucky to know him. The staff here are so polite, courteous and accommodating over the phone and in person. Night and day difference with what I experienced in some of PTs in San Jose. I understand the frustration for cost

Was billed 800 some dollars for 2 sessions here. Specifically said do not charge insurance as I knew it was not covered by insurance so I could get a lower rate (they bill insurance at a higher rate). On top of this the PT was convinced the issue was with my foot, the MRI confirmed this was not correct . Now I get to fight collections to try and lower the bill. Stay away from this place if you can. First and only medical bill I have ever disputed.

Excellent clinic. I had a very bad case of sciatica and expected that it would take me several months to recover, but the therapy sessions and the exercise programs they've set for me have put me back on my feet in just four weeks. The clerks were very accommodating: they put me on the best schedule they could find, and when better options opened up they proactively reached out and offered to reschedule. My therapist Mara is a miracle worker, there's just no better way to put it. She carefully investigated every nuance of my symptoms and started me on just the right program that she then gradually and thoughtfully incremented until I was back to fully functional, I am now in an even better shape than when my sciatica started. Thank you!

Beware. The costs are outrageous and not in line with other physical therapists in the area. $477 for a 35-minute evaluation!!! It's truly shocking and Sutter keeps telling me it's not a mistake and that the "codes" are correct because the Board of Directors sets the prices. Other physical therapists charge $160 and $190 for a full hour initial evaluation.

I'm so happy to have been referred to SC Physical Therapy. This is the 3rd PT I've worked with for an injury and although the other 2 we're good, I feel that I'm making more progress working with Mara. My dad works with a different therapist there with excellent results so I'm confident this is a great place to get care. I also find the staff there very helpful and kind. Definitely recommend!
