I had what was initially successful back surgery for stenosis and 3 screws on L4 and L5 in November 2022 with Dr. Suratwala After the surgery I was never able to stand straight and walk easily. I went back to Doctor Suratwala again and again. I took an MRI a year and half later for him. My last visit ended with him belittling my condition by saying very rudely - go see a neurologist! I did that and that led to a finding that the muscles in my lower back were weak-something that was visible in both MRI’s that he asked me to take. I am seeing a great neurosurgeon and he immediately saw it and showed it to me in both MRI’s! After extensive X Rays and a CT scan for my neurosurgeon he showed me that two of the screws were loose, because the weak muscles in the lower back never let them set in

Went to see Dr. Sanjeev Suritwala at an office of Northwell Orthopedic in Great Neck on a referral from another patient. The Doctor prescribed a minimally invasive procedure to repair a spinal fracture. Insurance initially refused the procedure requiring the doctor to file an appeal. I waited approximately 30 days and then contacted the doctor’s office to obtain an update. I left two messages, neither were returned. Coincidentally I was contacted by the insurance company on another matter and asked them to check on the status of my appeal. I was told no appeal has been filed in this case. I then called the doctor’s office to speak with the doctor and got his secretary. She checked and sure enough, no appeal was ever submitted. And they had no idea it was not. Had stinging pain in my lower back that was traveling down my leg. couldnt stand up straight and walking caused a lot of pain. Dr. Suratwala came highly recommended after trips to multiple chiropractors provided no relief. Dr. Suratwala was courteous, kind and thorough. he offered options other than surgery which he explained should only be preformed as a last resort in my case. the medication helped but shortly after finishing my prescription the pain returned. On a follow up visit with Dr. Suratwala, he explained that a cortisone shot would be the next option. scheduling an appointment was easy and he administered the cortisone shot giving me no pain at all. 3 years later and counting i have no pain at all. Thank you Dr. Suratwala. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. across the board satisfaction.

Today in 05/14/2025 i have appointment after surgery checking, but when i coming from Brooklyn in two hours way to office, front desk reception don’t let me see doctor and cancel my appointment like i am new patient TODAY IN 05/19/2025, THANKS FOR DOCTOR SANJEEV J SURATWALA AND FOR STAFF, HE RESOLVE ALL MY PROBLEM WITH APPOINMENT, AND HELP ME MORE, THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!!!

Besides a doctor , Mr Suratwala is very caring and kind person . My father had severe constant pain right below shoulder blade and dad is been going for therapy, we ended up consulting dr suratwala ,he listens and explains in a very thorough fashion to help understand patients what a patient should look forward to. he is very concerned about patient's need . excellent doctor at diagnosis and further treatments. highly recommended.
