Sanford Bemidji Medical Center

INSANE as a disabled person that I came in with my mouth infected, broken collarbone, and I live 24 miles away and have no support system. I spoke with hospital staff and law enforcement and was PROMISED that I would have a ride home, then at d/c i was told that no rides were available and I would have to resolve that issue myself.... I panicked and literally thought i was going to have to walk 24 miles in 20 degree temps and told them I would jump in front of traffic and they did not care, that did not change things and I truly would have bc I literally haven't had hot water since August 23rd and I do have a county worker then they had hospital staff follow me around when I was just sitting in the lobby trying to find a ride and figure something out and they called Bemidji PD then hospita

Been here multiple times doesnt matter how busy the waiting room are the workers sure do alot of talking joke telling and laughing, but i guess thats what medicine is now. A joke. Urgent care my boot. Not a thing urgent happening here. 5 hours for yall not to know. Multiples times. Great job

I have been a cardiac patient here for two years. No matter the issue I am having the docs come take 5 min to look at you and ten minutes to chart and that's it. A terrible hospital with substandard care. I had to go to Mayo to get my heart issue solved.

My father was admitted for a broken hip and developed complications due to a medication combination. His doctor, Dr. Westerhoff and dad's nurses were absolutely fantastic. I live 4 hours away so couldn't be there everyday and they called me everyday with a progress report. The doctor was very confident dad would come out of the condition that he was in by today, Monday, and he did. Dr. Westerhoff did his research and I felt extremely confident that dad was receiving the best care possible and he did. A HUGH shout out to the ICU department staff. You guys are great 😃.

I do not know any one who likes the Sanford medical system. They are BIG, and inpersonal, they push you around, and have no sense of customer service. They seem to be only about profit, and not about health. However, many of the people who work there are Great! Dr Quamme, as an example is a five star doctor. He and his nurse Dee get my highest praise. I am so happy that they have stayed here in Bemidji when Sanford took over from MeritCare. I know that there were some of the best people who just did not want to work with this orginazation, and left, but the people who live here in Bemidji have little in the way of choice; it is many miles to the next hospital, so I am so happy that there are high quality providers who have stayed.
