Sandhills Pediatrics West Columbia

We have had nothing but great experiences with Sandhills, having been to three locations; however, West Columbia is absolutely fantastic. Dr Brock is our son’s primary physician and he is amazing. He is patient, kind, and attentive. He takes the time to really understand our concerns and include us in forming a treatment plan. He really cares about our son’s wellbeing- he remembers things we’ve discussed at previous appointments, he knows his history, and we always feel like we have his undivided attention during appointments. He is also exceptionally knowledgeable, welcoming of questions, and open to conversation, which is extremely reassuring especially as first time parents. Dr. Brock has been wonderful so I have zero complaints about him. However, in December I took my son to see a NP there and they tested him for the flu and Covid. That visit was $696- this is not an exaggeration. After insurance, I owed over $340. I called and spoke to the billing office and even emailed to see how I could appeal this since it’s inflated and over-billing but was told that is the correct price for a visit with a NP, flu test, and Covid test. It would have been cheaper for me to have taken him to the ER, which I wouldn’t do but it’s crazy that the costs would be so similar. I’ve learned that from now on, we can only afford to take my son to this office for his annual check ups. While the provider is good, waiting up to 2 hours past your scheduled apt..every time...with a baby....is not reasonable, especially when you dont even extend the courtesy to check in and say hey we apologize for the delay, we haven't forgotten you etc..parents time is valuable to
