Sancta Maria Nursing Facility

My 95-year-old mother has been at Sancta Maria in Cambridge for a year now. She first came to Rehab after breaking her hip and received excellent care there. The team of PT and OT staff are outstanding - kind, encouraging, engaging and true experts in their work. We then moved mom to the resident nursing facility (in the same building), where she has been for 7 months now. Her care has been very good - the day and evening teams have been very kind and patient with her, and engage with her lively personality, which is very important (to anyone!). The food is plentiful and decent, and the highlight is the Activities Team, who work hard every day to bring some fun and entertainment to the daily routine. Formal Complaint – Discriminatory Treatment by Security at Sancta Maria Nursing Facility Dear Sancta Maria Nursing Facility Administration, Today I delivered an order to your clinic and was immediately met with hostility from the security guard. I asked, calmly, where to drop off the package—he snapped back, talked down to me like I didn’t belong, even rolled his eyes. Felt personal, like he had it out for delivery guys or… whoever he thought I was. This is a nursing facility. You care for people at their weakest. If your staff treats outsiders—who’re literally keeping your doors open—like garbage, how do they act behind the curtain? I hate to imagine it. Please look into this, retrain whoever he is, and let me know what happens. Ten days is fair.

My elderly father just completed a short-term rehab stay at Sancta Maria Nursing Facility, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the care he received. I have been to many nursing homes in Massachusetts, when it came time to select a nursing home, I immediately chose Sancta Maria. Doctor and home health agencies advised me they were the best. My Mom has been there for 3.5 years and she is the happiest i have ever seen. The care, the workers and the Activity Department make her feel like a queen. My Mom loves her activities, something to do every day , they are the best people around. If you need a good nursing facility for a loved one, this is the place. Activities Department Director Karen is the kindest, most compassionate person around. We are so fortunate to have her.

While the facility needs updating, there were no complaints. My mother was there for almost 3 weeks and she said the people were the nicest people all the workers were wonderful. Hopefully not, but if needed, that’s where we’ll go again
