Samaritan Summit Village

I am reviewing Samaritan summit Village with staff is exceptional. They’re caring and compassionate and take time with their job is a great place to send someone if they need rehab. The issue that I have is that there’s a contract that you sign that says that you receive a shower once a week I don’t think that that should be in a contract I honestly believe that person needs a shower more than once a week. I understand that there’s a shortage of faculty because of Covid however, you have skin breakdown if you don’t have a shower more than once a week. their facilities like prisons and psychiatric wards where those patients have showers every day where they can refuse, but have to have a shower every two days your contract should be reviewed and updated so that patients receive a shower m

I went to a team meeting about my mother's care on Friday where I was assured she was progressing nicely, and by Monday she was dead. She was ill and her condition was not monitored properly. That Saturday night she called me saying she thought she was dying. She had been left to languish in bed with untreated pneumonia. When I went to the facility ,alarmed, on Saturday night, a supervisor gaslighted me- my mother's vitals were fine and she was just " panicking." I've put in 2 calls to the " advocate" which haven't been returned. We'll see what the Department Of Health thinks.

My mother was in assisted living for 6 years and loved her room and the staff. We were able to meet and connect with them. Very loving caring people. She spent a short time in skilled nursing, where she received excellent care. When she was placed in comfort care she not only received the best care but her family did also. They put up with her large family and offered us so much comfort. I want to thank the caring community they are for everything they did for our family. ❤️

I would give 0 stars if it let me. This place is the most horrible nursing home I have seen. I am a former CNA with over 4 years experience ina nuring home setting and over 6 of in home care. I cannot believe how badly residents are being treated at The Summit. I cannot not give specific details for fear of even worse treatment to my family member. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone!!!! If I could, I would move her anywhere but here.

If you are someone who has their wits about them, can do their own banking, can even take care of their own medications and give it to themselves properly, and also one who likes to ask questions and be informed, this is not the place for you or your loved ones. The people that they want at their facility, are the loved ones that want to just dump their family in a place and have no further contact. Where the resident has no control over anything and they have total control. They don't seem to understand nor will they abide by New York State Law. They handout paperwork that they themselves do not go by what is written on it, nor do they like to go by signed agreements.
