Dear Dr. Hill, I’m following up on the recent review that my husband left describing our horrific and 100% factual experience we had at your clinic Thursday, July 24th. First, I want to clarify that the outcome of that visit—the decision to put our dog to sleep—would not have changed. We came there out of love, knowing that this was the most compassionate choice for our family member. That decision was heartbreaking enough on its own, and no amount of treatment could have changed the reality we were facing. On 7/24/25, We brought our beloved senior rat terrier, who was in critical condition and at the end of her life, to Salida Veterinary Hospital—the clinic we had trusted up until this point and where Dr. Hill had been involved in her care. All other nearby veterinary offices were closed until 1:30 PM, and we arrived at Salida Vet. Hospital exactly at that time, desperate for help as our dog was in respiratory distress and declining rapidly. Dr. Hill was not present and wouldn’t be available until 2:00 PM. Due to a suspected cellular/wireless outage, we couldn’t get in contact with the other two vets. The front desk staff told us we’d have to wait 30 minutes. Our dog didn’t have 30 minutes—and no one offered so much as a room, a blanket, or any supportive care while she suffered in the parki

Annie charged for an exam which she never did, and charged for 5 radiographs, 2 were totally undiagnostic. I have worked for the best Equine Veterinarians in the industry, and this was pathetic. Debbie Willemsma

Couldn't get into our regular vet and my senior dog was in pain/limping. Alex was able to fit my dog into Dr. Ben's schedule as a drop off and I cannot say thank you enough. Dr. Ben really cares about the senior pets and talked through the best options for her with me. What a knowledgeable, compassionate and kind doctor and staff. Thanks a million!!! Highly recommend this doctor and staff.
