Salem Clinic Urgent Care

I'm a new patient to Salem Clinic because of the botched treatment at another medical facility, and the experience that my neighbor had when he was unable to drive himself because he was so woozy on New year's eve due to an infection. They did a quick blood draw and exam and sent him home to wait for results, and we were on way to ER for ultrasound, in a short period of time because imaging at the clinic was closed that day. After a couple hours at ER, he had a confirmed diagnosis, and a prescription to stop the infection. After observing the service he received, and how wonderful all the people were to him and me, I decided to switch my care to Salem Clinic and Salem hospital. Was experiencing discomfort, typically associated with a UTI. The medication I was given was not working, so I went to this urgent care in hopes to get a more concise diagnosis than the one I was given three days prior. While I understand that a long wait may be necessary in order to receive care, this instance is regarding the results from a swab and urine sample. The pain and discomfort were quickly becoming unbearable, and since I hadn’t gotten even a phone call regarding my results, I went to a different urgent care. There, they did several tests and determined that while it wasn’t a UTI, there was a potential kidney stone. They gave me medication to help with the pain and set up an appointment for an ultrasound. My wife had to be seen to discuss pain management options as her PCP was out. We have had some awful experiences at local ER’s and are very hesitant to go to any type of urgent care facility, but we now have renewed faith that there are still wonderful doctors and staff out there. Dr. Saffer was immediately calming, respectful, and compassionate. He listened, empathized, and immediately assured us that he could help my wife in relieving her intense pain. I'm sure experiences vary based on how busy they are, but I had a very positive experience at this urgent care. All the terrible reviews had me nervous! I was called into the office within less than a minute of me sitting down, the nurse was lovely, and Dr. Sloan came in directly after she left to take a look at my elbow. He was very polite, helpful, and patient. I got an Xray, and was out of there within 45 min of check-in. All of the staff I encountered were kind, efficient, and seemed happy to be there.
